Carp fishing is a really enjoyable activity because carp are really clever and don’t take bait too easily. However, with a bit of guile, you can tempt carp and trick them into being caught. Here are just some pointers to serve you when carp fishing:-

  • Add plenty of salt to particle baits, especially the cooked varieties like hemp, maize, tares, beans, partiblend seeds, maple peas and chick peas. The carp enjoy salty foods. Approximately, add one tablespoon of salt to 5 litres of dry particles. These are also good cheap baits to use!
  • Utilise distinct pellet sizes or particles in a spod mixture. This helps confuse the carp, and gives you the selection to try various sizes on the hook.
  • Add high sources of vitamin C to the bait. Stir up your method with fruit juice as opposed to water from the lake. Also experiment with dipping fresh boilies in orange juice so as to to give off that well-defined tang.
  • If you’re worried about overfeeding the swim, then experiment with breadcrumb groundbait with just the attractants included, but with particle baits NOT included. This attracts the fish without feeding them too much.
  • Lastly, make sure you have the right fishing gear with you. Research what you should bring online. You can find all kinds of things online, such as bait boats - and be sure to enjoy the experience!

Fishing is by far the most popular hobby in the United Kingdom, and here we introduce the diverse methods and styles of angling in the United Kingdom. It’s a fantastic way to get outdoors, and there’s an expanding angling society in England with many fishing clubs and contests attended by numerous angling fans.

How would I go about angling? Well you need a rod, a fishing reel, some bait, and the ability to sit down in one area for a lengthy period of time! Where you live in the UK will likely determine the sort of angling you’ll be involved in. There’s coarse fishing which can occur in rivers, lakes and in the sea, and there’s game fishing which demands snagging bigger fish, often as a competition. It’s advisable to take up the type of angling that doesn’t involve you putting in the miles - better to have a lake or river close by that you can nip to at a in just minutes - as the fantastic thing about fishing is the fact it’s a place you can go to get away from it all and slow down.

Coarse fishing is a term used for angling kinds of fresh water fish that aren’t game fish. It’s very popular in the UK and mainland Europe. The types of fish you can find on your hook when coarse fishing include bream, dace, pike, tench and roach amongst many others. When coarse fishing, you just want a normal a fishing reel, fishing rod, maybe an angling tripod (to balance the rod), some groundbait, some fishing keepnets and landing nets.

Game fishing is a form of fishing, targeting big fish legendary for their sporting qualities, such as tuna. Having said all that, game fishing can also include trout and salmon.

To hook a fish, you’ll need some bait! Fishing tackle is put on to tempt fish to the covered hook. Normally, insects, and smaller fish have been applied for this function. Fishermen have also begun fake plastic tackle and even electronic lures, to attract fish. Reports show that natural baits like shrimp are more recognized by the fish and therefore more successful.

Fishing is especially popular in the warmer months when the temperature is warmer and the days are long, and night angling isn’t so freezing cold. Fishing can be as inexpensive as you want it to be. Just get a rod, a reel, some bait, a fishing license, and that’s it.

4.1 Million Use Credit Cards for Mortgage or Rent

According to housing and homelessness charity Shelter, about 85% of the UK’s £1.4 trillion personal debt is secured against property. The good thing with secured debts, of course, is that they normally come with a lower APR (Annual Percentage Rate) than unsecured debts. Nonetheless, a mortgage is by far the biggest debt most people will ever have. It’s a commitment to spend a long time paying a lot of money every month. If the mortgagor runs into any kind of financial trouble, it can be a huge burden.

Here’s the scary part. In October last year, Shelter revealed that over a million people had been forced to pay their mortgage or rent with a credit card in the previous 12 months. Just eight months later, that number had quadrupled - published in June 2008, Shelter’s ‘Breaking point’ report revealed that ‘4.1 million households (16%) used credit cards to help meet their housing costs in the last 12 months’.

Credit cards may seem like a good way to deal with a cash shortfall in the short term, but they’re no long-term debt solution. “When someone pays a month’s mortgage or rent with their credit card, they’re not solving their debt problems - they’re just putting them off,” says a spokesperson for financial solutions company Think Money. “They’ll have to repay that debt sooner or later, and the longer they leave it sitting on their credit card, the more they’ll end up paying in interest.”

What’s more, any inability to pay essential bills like rent or mortgage could mean there’s something seriously wrong with their financial situation in general. “Anyone in this situation should immediately review their financial situation and figure out where the problem lies. It could be that they can’t really afford the mortgage / rent payments, or it could be that their other debts and expenses are simply taking up too much of their income. Unless they’re certain that it’s a short-term problem (caused by a one-off expense, perhaps) it’s essential they take action to regain control of their finances.”

The important thing is to act swiftly, but not panic and grab the first debt ’solution’ that comes to mind, like using a credit card for this kind of debt payment. “Financial solutions companies like Think Money can help people find a much better answer to their debt problems. A debt management plan, IVA or Trust Deed could be a good way to reduce their monthly payments and regain control of their finances, but everyone’s situation is different, so it’s vital to seek debt advice from a company that offers a wide range of debt solutions.”

It’s all the rage in Kiwi-land. It catches fish - BIG fish like nothing else you’ve ever tried. It is so unique you’ll say, “I never would have thought of that”. What’s all the talk about? A technique that can get you more and BIGGER fish than ever before, that’s what. And here it is …

Flying a kite.

“Excuse me?”

Yep. You read it right. Along the coasts of New Zealand, surrounding small islands and portions of Australia as well, savvy fishermen are using - you got it - none other than kites to hook not only more fish, but much bigger fish. The technique is “childishly” simple in concept. From the beach you attach a multi-hook dropper rig to a three foot or larger wingspan kite. The line comes back down to your rod and reel. Winds carry the kite and your rig out far beyond the distance you’d ever be able to cast. From the shore you can fish anywhere from 500 yards to a half mile or more out. The waters at that distance from shore will be considerably deeper than you would otherwise reach. The baited multi-hook rig will now rest in water more than deep enough for the “big ones” to come into play.

The Results

Results are startlingly simple. From your dry beach outpost, you can haul in full deep-sea species from monster Red Snappers to Tuna to sharks. The larger the kite or the stronger the prevailing winds, the more weight or greater rig load the kite can “pull” offshore. Rigs can range from three to 25 or more hooks. Steerable kites allow you to tack and guide the kite in winds from varying directions.

“When I saw my bright red kite start to do a hoochie-coochie dance up and down a couple of hundred yards or so offshore, I knew I had something big”, commented a lady fisherman from England who was on an extended holiday to Auckland, New Zealand.

At first you’ll have to experiment a bit to get the right combination of weight and rig size for the kite and winds where you fish. Soon you’ll get the hang of it, and be flying high. There are a few commercial firms which manufacture fishing kites that can supply you with everything you’ll need pre-packaged. You could also work up your own rig combinations from local suppliers. It’s even possible to kite fish from a boat, kayak or pier. Don’t limit yourself to the ocean either. A large river or lake may make suitable “kite flying” grounds too. Be sure to check local fishing regulations.

Anyway you tackle it; kite fishing is a unique twist to an age old sport. And me? I’ve taken my new kite and gone fishing.
